Megan Fox, Everyone Back for Transformers 2
In an article about The Office’s Rainn Wilson joining the cast of Michael Bay’s “Transformers 2″ as Sam Witwicky’s narcissistic college professor (reported here and elsewhere yesterday, by the way, ahem), The Hollywood Reporter also mentions that Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro have all returned for the sequel. But wait — did they really? If I read the article correctly, it seemed as if the trade was just assuming they would be back. Granted, they would be foolish not to return, but nothing I’ve read has mentioned that Megan Fox’s character would even BE in the sequel.
See, there you go. The article sort of just threw their names out there as a given that they’ll return for the sequel. I don’t even know why Josh Duhamel’s character would return, or Tyrese Gibson’s, for that matter. Although yes, Gibson’s character will likely return, as the actor has already said in other places that he has “Transformers 2″ on his schedule. Plus, casting notices guarantees that John Turturro’s annoying G-Man will also return.
But Duhamel and Megan Fox? It was reported a year ago that Fox was already signed on for sequels, but nothing I’ve read on the movie so far indicates that her character is still in the movie; plus, the sequel ages Sam Witwicky a number of years — he’s now in college, for one — so it would make sense for him to have a new girlfriend. How many of else still date our high school crush AFTER high school?
